Damp stains can appear around the frame of windows and can develop into mildew. The usual cause is moisture condensing on the cold glass or frames and soaking into paintwork. It is more common on aluminium frame and single glazed glass and mostly between October and March. To help control this problem you should dry off glass and frame whenever possible and open windows slightly to clear out moisture.
